Jewelery care
Jewelery care
Sistie jewelery is made of genuine nickel-free sterling silver, and must be treated with care.
Gold-plated jewelry is made of sterling silver, plated with 18 carat gold. The gilding will wear over time.
Store your jewelery in its own plastic bag, which is sent with all orders, to prevent the jewelery from scratching each other.
Prevent your jewelry from oxidizing by placing it in an airtight bag. They should not hang unprotected on, for example, a jewelery stand. And it is important that they are dry when they are put in a bag.
Always remove your jewelery when washing hands, bathing, swimming, sports and cleaning. Do not sleep with the jewelry on and make sure to spray hairspray and apply creams before wearing your jewelry.
Sterling silver (925), gold-plated sterling silver and rhodium-plated sterling silver are all metals that must be cleaned to remain beautiful.
How to clean the jewelry!
Sterling silver (925), gold-plated sterling silver and rhodium-plated sterling silver are all metals that must be cleaned to remain beautiful.
Sterling silver
Polish your sterling silver jewelry with a soft cloth or put the jewelry in soapy water and let the jewelry dry completely before putting the jewelry back on or putting it in an airtight bag. If your silver jewelery is oxidised, you can remedy this by using silver dip, which can be bought in grocery stores and at jewellers.
Just like clothes and shoes, jewelry gets dirty easily from dirt and dust. Here you can take a soft toothbrush and clean the jewelery carefully. (Ankle chains get particularly dirty from dust from the road)
Gilded sterling silver
Gold-plated sterling silver is gold-plated silver with 18 carat gold. Clean gold-plated silver with a dry soft cloth and use silver dip to remove oxidation from the jewellery.
Rhodium-plated sterling silver
Rhodium plating is a coating on sterling silver that will gradually wear off and lose its rhodium-plated look. This cannot be avoided. You can clean rhodium-plated sterling silver with a dry soft cloth and silver dip.
Possible questions:
My jewelry gets stains!
Sistie jewelery is made of sterling silver 925. Silver oxidizes completely naturally when in contact with air. That is why it is important that you store your jewelery in the small airtight bags that you receive on delivery. If they have got 'stain' marks from oxidation, you can remedy this by using silver dip, which can be bought in grocery stores and jewelers.
Follow the instructions on the packaging.
The locks on the ear plugs are loose!
Loose locks on ear studs can be gently pinched together. Hold on both sides and squeeze towards the middle.
The stone/beads are not the same or have blemishes!
Sistie jewelery is mainly made of genuine materials ie. that pearls are real freshwater pearls and stones are real semi-precious stones. These will be different in shape and color from nature.
